The role
The Technical Business Analyst will assist in project managing the implementation of development projects and smaller BAU developments that have been scoped and agreed, producing necessary documentation in line with methodology used in the department and wider organisation.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Liaise with Business Analysts, Project Managers and Process Owners to understand their needs, analyse and propose options; as well as produce functional requirements specifications ensuring that requirements of system solutions are sufficiently documented and agreed prior to development and implementation.
• Analyse data for system and/or process improvements and support with data strategy.
• Undertake regular reporting on project progress to stakeholders and project board utilising methodology agreed with PMO; identifying blockers and making recommendations to help mitigate these blockers.
• Manage a programme of concurrent implementation projects, ensuring Group resources are used efficiently and appropriate JIRA is kept up to date.
• Support in producing and maintaining standard project management delivery documentation including project plans, RASCI matrix, issues log, risk registers and highlight reports to compliments agreed PMO reporting process.
• Identify and implement a model to successfully handover new system implementation to Technical Operations and Business Users teams, ensuring project is delivered to scope and benefits identified in business case are adhered to.
• Undertake regular reporting on project progress to stakeholders and project board utilising methodology agreed with PMO; identifying blockers and making recommendations to help mitigate these blockers.
• Manage a programme of concurrent implementation projects, ensuring Group resources are used efficiently and appropriate JIRA is kept up to date.
• Support in producing and maintaining standard project management delivery documentation including project plans, RASCI matrix, issues log, risk registers and highlight reports to compliments agreed by PMO reporting process.
• Provide expertise and advice to Technical Operations, Process Owners and other staff to enable them to manage newly implemented tools and improved processes.
• In conjunction with the Implementation Manager and Technical Architect, manage the services from 3rd party suppliers involved in project delivery.

What are we looking for?
It is essential that the job holder have:
• Advanced knowledge of Agile and waterfall software development methodologies.
• Proficient use of Microsoft office, Microsoft Project and Visio (or similar), as well as JIRA or similar bug tracking and development management systems.
• Significant experience of Management Information System (MIS) implementation and the software / system project lifecycle.
• Strong communication, facilitation and influencing skills as well as the ability to translate basic user needs into complex technical requirements and vice versa.
• Material experience of working in a development team supporting a wide variety multi project / technology business processes would be advantageous.
• A good understanding of internet technologies, front end web development technologies, CMS software and Microsoft SharePoint, is desirable.
